1998 Divisional Round
Future Hall of Fame running back Terrell Davis, rushed for 199 yards on 21 carries to lead the Denver Broncos past the Miami Dolphins in the Divisional round of the 1998 playoffs. Davis scored on runs 1 and 21 as the AFC West Champion Broncos improved to 15-2 on the season. Future Hall of Fame quarterback, John Elway was 14/23 for 182 yards and a touchdown to Rod Smith of 28 yards. Smith finished the day with 71 yards on 4 catches. Jason Elam added a 32 yard field goal and five extra points.
Defensively, the Broncos were led by Darrius Johnson with 9 tackles and a forced fumble as Tyrone Braxton added 7 tackles. Neil Smith picked up Johnson’s forced fumble and rumbled 79 yards for the final score. Marvin Washington sacked future Hall of Fame quarterback Dan Marino as Bill Romanowski and Darrius Johnson picked off the gunslinger in his final game of his NFL career.
